As promised, here are some of our fabulous poems being presented to the class.
A poem in the current issue of Countdown School Magazine is titles "The Boss of Me". 3A were asked to create their own poem based on the one they read. With Mrs Pennington we looked at the different types of words we could use to describe Midday, Dusk and Midnight. The 20 words needed to be sorted and glued into the right category. A busy week for year 3.
Tuesday 13 May - NAPLAN Writing and Language Conventions. Two 40 minute tests. Wednesday 14 May - Reading. 45 minutes. Thursday 15 May - Numeracy. 45 Minutes. Since the end of Term 1 all of year 3 have been practicing NAPLAN and how to concentrate for up to 40 minutes. During weeks 1 and 2 of Term 2 we have been looking at NAPLAN more intensively. Good luck to all the students this week. NB: If students are absent on one of the NAPLAN dates they will be able to complete the missed test on Friday 16 May ONLY. There will be no other opportunity to make up the tests after this date. Welcome back to SPS everyone!
It was great to see everyone back and ready to learn...well, at least most of you! I have added a QUIZ tab to our class website where each week I will post the weekly quiz questions that go with your homework. How lovely are our mixed media whales? We used tempura paint for our freehand drawn whales. We used tissue paper for our aquatic backgrounds. Then we cut out our whales and glued them to our backgrounds. These are some of our pieces of art. |
